Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the ViewForMe website (viewforme.com.au) and the rental inspection services we provide. By booking an inspection, you agree to these terms.

ViewForMe is operated by Truuther Pty Ltd(ACN 677 105 396), an Australian registered company based in Sydney, NSW. In these terms, “we” / “our” / “ViewForMe” refer to Truuther Pty Ltd, and “you” refers to the customer who books an inspection.

2. What the service is

We attend a rental property inspection on your behalf and deliver:

  • A walkthrough video filmed during the inspection
  • Photos of every room and the immediate surroundings
  • A bilingual (English + Chinese) written report
  • Honest, evidence-based answers to the questions you give us in advance
  • Optional add-ons: comparison analysis across multiple properties, feng shui reading

We are NOT a real estate agent. We are NOT licensed surveyors, building inspectors, or property valuers. We do not represent landlords or take landlord commissions. We work for you, the prospective tenant.

3. Pricing and payment

Current prices are listed at viewforme.com.au/en/services. Pricing may change — you are charged the rate quoted at the time of your booking confirmation.

Payment is in two stages:

  • 50% deposit to confirm your booking (after we agree on the inspection scope and timing)
  • Remaining 50% balance due when we deliver the completed report to you

We accept WeChat Pay, Alipay, and Australian bank transfer. We do not accept credit cards or any payment that exposes your bank details on this website.

4. Cancellation and refunds

Within 4 hours of paying your deposit: full refund, no questions asked.

After 4 hours but more than 24 hours before the inspection: a $15 booking fee is non-refundable. The rest of your deposit is fully refundable.

Less than 24 hours before the inspection:your deposit is non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances (illness, emergency — please contact us and we’ll be reasonable).

After we have delivered the report: the inspection fee is non-refundable EXCEPT in case of service failure (see below).

5. Service standards and our guarantees

Turnaround: we deliver the completed report within 48 hours of the inspection. If we fail to deliver within 48 hours due to our fault, you can request a 50% refund.

If we don’t attend the inspection we agreed to attend (without giving you at least 4 hours notice), we refund your full deposit.

If we miss something majorthat is clearly visible and that we should have reported on (mould we ignored, AC we said worked but didn’t, etc.), please tell us within 7 days of the report. We will offer either a free re-inspection or a refund of the inspection fee, at your choice.

6. What we don’t guarantee

We provide honest, expert observations, but:

  • We don’t guarantee that the property is free from defects we cannot detect during a normal inspection (e.g., what’s behind walls, structural issues requiring a licensed building inspector, plumbing or electrical problems only visible under load).
  • We don’t guarantee that the landlord or agent will behave as described in our report.
  • We don’t guarantee that the property will still be available when you decide to apply.
  • We don’t guarantee that other prospective tenants won’t outbid you.
  • We don’t provide legal advice about lease agreements. Always read your lease carefully and seek legal advice if needed.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate listing information and a real Domain or realestate.com.au URL
  • Provide your real name, phone number, and email so we can confirm appointments
  • Pay the deposit promptly when invoiced, and the balance within 7 days of receiving the report
  • Not use our case study photos, videos, or reports for commercial purposes without our written permission
  • Not misrepresent the property, the landlord, or the inspection process based on our report

8. Intellectual property

The report we deliver to you is for your personal use in making a rental decision. You may share it with your family and your real estate decision-makers (e.g., parents, partner). You may not republish it on a website, social media, or commercial use without our written permission.

We retain copyright on all photos, videos, and written analysis we produce. We may use anonymised excerpts as public case studies (see our Privacy Policy for the PII-stripping commitment).

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the inspection.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to: lost bond, lost rent, missed opportunities, emotional distress, or damages caused by your decision to sign or not sign a lease.

This limitation does not apply to liabilities that cannot be limited under Australian Consumer Law (e.g., guarantees implied by law for services provided).

10. Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a remedy for a major failure (refund or re-performance), and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are entitled to have the service re-performed or pay for the failure to be remedied if the service does not meet acceptable quality.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of NSW.

Before going to court, please contact us at hello@viewforme.com.au so we can try to resolve the issue directly. Most issues can be fixed with a conversation.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted on the website for 30 days. Bookings made before a change are governed by the version of these terms in force at the time of booking.
